Celebrating the Launch of 从石叻坡到新加坡 – A Landmark in Singapore Mandarin

March 2025 Promote Mandarin Council 推广华语理事会 book launch event Selat to Singapore – Singaporean Mandarin Database 从石叻坡到新加坡~新加坡华语资料库! Guest of Honour being Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development. Lots of laughter and appreciation when Prof Tan Chee Lay, Principal Investigator of the research project & Member of the Promote Mandarin Council, shared the 2-volume publication was 5 years in the making, contained more than 1100 Singapore Mandarin terms, and weighed around 5kg! We can identify with the localised context that the publication had been written, which also serves to further educate one who may be new to Singapore or who is keen to learn more about our unique Singapore Chinese culture.

‘Love Connects’: Book Launch and Exhibition Celebrating Goh Soo Khim

March 2025 Lovely evening at the opening reception of Love Connects: My Life in Dance by Goh Soo Khim, presented by The Private Museum. Guest of Honour being Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law. The book launch and special exhibition offers a glimpse into Cultural Medallion recipient Goh Soo Khim’s journey in dance, artistic influences, and enduring legacy in the cultural landscape in Singapore.

From Culture to Innovation: A Meaningful CNY Celebration with Esteemed Guests

February 2025 Joyous Chinese New Year celebration with Senior Parliamentary Secretary Mr Eric Chua gracing the occasion. We were delighted to have with us esteemed guests Dr Liu Thai Ker, widely known as the Father of City Planning in Singapore, and Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of National University of Singapore. Dr Liu unveiled his calligraphy work and Prof Tan shared in an insightful seminar entitled “The AI Revolution and the Future of Work”. Happy that everyone enjoyed the celebrations and choir session. Best wishes to all for a wonderful Year of the Snake! We were delighted to have Dr Liu Thai Ker and Professor Tan Eng Chye join us for the celebration, both holding bouquets (Dr Liu on the right, Prof Tan on the left), making the event truly special.
